Long vs. Short Performance

Last updated: September 16, 2025

1. What does this metric show?

This metric breaks down your performance based on the direction of your trades. It calculates your total P/L and Win Rate for all of your 'Buy' (Long) trades and 'Sell' (Short) trades separately.

2. How to Use This Information

Analyzing your Long vs. Short performance helps you understand where your true edge lies. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you have a directional bias? Many traders find they are naturally better at trading in one direction. This metric will clearly show if you are more profitable in rising (Long) or falling (Short) markets.
  • Is your strategy direction-dependent? This data can reveal if a specific strategy you use works better for buys than for sells, or vice-versa.
💡 By identifying which direction you are most profitable in, you can choose to focus more on those higher-probability setups, potentially improving your overall results.
