  • Performance (Local Storage & IndexedDB): For our paid subscribers, we utilize your browser's Local Storage and IndexedDB to cache market chart data and simulator states. This allows for significantly faster load times and preserves your progress during active sessions.
  • Partner Program: If you visit our site via a referral link, a functional cookie is stored for up to 60 days to ensure our partners are accurately credited for the referral.
  • Third-Party Security: We utilize cookies via Stripe for fraud prevention and Google reCAPTCHA for bot protection.

User-Provided Content

You may optionally choose to provide us with a profile picture and/or a cover image for your account.

Financial Data

We do not collect or store any financial information. All payment processing is handled securely by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We encourage you to review their privacy policy and contact them directly for responses to your questions.

We collect and store the data you input into our service, including but not limited to trade details, strategies, notes, account balances, and performance metrics. This data is essential for the functionality of the service.

Derivative Data

Information our servers automatically collect when you access the site, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the site.

Trade Licks utilizes global cloud infrastructure to host our platform. By using our services, you acknowledge that your personal information and trading data will be transferred to and stored on servers located outside of New Zealand (including, but not limited to, the United States and Australia). We ensure that our service providers adhere to strict data protection standards and encryption protocols to keep your data safe.

This includes the use of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption for data in transit and the hashing of user passwords. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

5. Age Requirements & Minors

Trade Licks is strictly intended for use by individuals who are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from, or market our services to, any person or minor under the age of 18. If we become aware that an individual under the age of 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take immediate steps to delete such data and terminate the associated account.

6. Your Data Rights & Control

You have the right to:

  • Request that we correct any inaccurate personal data.
  • Request that we delete your personal data.
  • Cancel your account at any time.
  • Clear Local Data: You can clear your browser's cache, Cookies, and IndexedDB data at any time via your browser settings. Note that clearing IndexedDB will remove any locally stored, unsaved simulator states.

To exercise these rights, please contact our designated Privacy Officer via our Contact Page. If you are a New Zealand resident and are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Data Retention

We retain your core journal data for as long as your account is active. Upon cancellation of a paid subscription, uploaded images are retained for a grace period of 90 days before permanent deletion, as detailed in our Terms of Service.
