Automating Your Session Logging
The Session Management page allows you to control how your trades are categorized by time. The system can automatically detect which trading session a trade belongs to based on its open time, saving you manual effort and unlocking powerful time-based analysis. You can enable or disable this automation at any time using the main toggle on the page.
Standard vs. Custom Sessions
The system uses two types of sessions:
- Standard Sessions: These are the default market hours for the major global sessions (e.g., New York, London). They cannot be edited and automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time.
- Custom Sessions: You can create your own unique sessions for any trading period that is important to your strategy, such as "London Close," "Pre-NY Open," or a specific "ICT Killzone."
Creating a Custom Session
To create your own session, click the "Add New" button and fill out the form. You will need to provide a name, a start and end time, and the correct timezone for that session.
💡 When creating a session, check the box to "Automatically create a corresponding tag." The system will create a tag (e.g., #Pre-NY-Open) that you can use for filtering in your journal and for detailed analysis on the Advanced Analytics page.
