Save Time with Automated Categorization
For traders who import their history from a CSV file, manually adding the same strategy and timeframe to every trade can be a repetitive task. The Default Import Settings feature is designed to automate this process, ensuring your trades are categorized correctly from the moment they enter your journal.
One-Time Setup
The first time you visit the "Import Trades" page, a setup modal will appear. This allows you to choose a default Strategy and Timeframe from your existing lists. This initial setup takes only a few seconds and can be skipped if you wish to configure it later.
How Defaults are Applied
When you import a file, the system will check each trade. If a trade in the file is missing a value for 'Strategy' or 'Timeframe', your saved default will be automatically applied. This process does not overwrite any data that is already present in your import file.
Updating Your Default Settings
Your trading style evolves, and so can your defaults. To change your settings at any time, simply navigate to the "Import Trades" page and click the settings cog icon () to open the configuration modal again.
💡 Keeping your trades categorized is key to powerful analytics. By setting a default, you ensure that even quick imports contribute to your performance data on the Advanced Analytics page, preventing trades from falling into the 'N/A' category.
